The Local Government Administration as Catalyst for Conflict Management
Abstract
Over the years, the Local Government Administration in Nigeria serves as agent of mass mobilization and as instrument of conflict
management. This research uses secondary information to examine the historical evolution of the Local Government Administration, the major causes of conflict and the conjugal methodological ways of managing such conflict at the Local Government level. It recommends the review of the autonomy of the Local Government Administration, tolerance, education and adequate training of employees, and Conducive working conditions as effective ways of removing conflicts.
